Cookies
The Dexta website sets no cookies of its own. What it does load from other services, and what the Dexta apps keep in your browser. Draft.
This draft is awaiting review by a lawyer. It is not yet in force. Items marked [TO CONFIRM] are for the lawyer or the company to settle.
The short version
This website sets no cookies of its own, so there is no cookie banner to click. That stays true if we switch on visitor counts, because the service we use for them sets none either.
What the website loads from elsewhere
- Fonts. Our typefaces are served from our own website. No font provider is contacted and no cookies are set.
- Visitor counts, only if switched on. We use Plausible Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and doesn’t keep your IP address; it counts visits in total. While analytics is off, the script isn’t loaded at all. [TO CONFIRM: whether analytics is switched on at launch.]
Links to other websites, such as the sources we cite, take you to sites with their own cookie rules.
In the Dexta apps (for customers and their people)
Once you sign in to Dexta, the apps keep a few things in your browser, all needed for the service to work:
- Your sign-in. The apps keep a sign-in token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in, until you sign out or it expires.
- Single sign-on. When you sign in with Microsoft, Google or Okta, the Hub sets one short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in from forgery. It expires within minutes.
- Your preferences, such as which menu sections you have open, kept in local storage on your device.
- The phone app’s offline files, when you install Dexta from your browser on a phone.
None of these are used for advertising or to follow you to other websites. [TO CONFIRM: whether these need to be listed item by item in the customer’s own notice.]
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings. Blocking them won’t affect this website. In the Dexta apps, blocking local storage will stop you staying signed in.
