Billable and non-billable
Every project is billable or not. Reports filter on it, and each person's profile shows their billable hours for the last five weeks.
Professional services
Consultancies, agencies, architecture studios, and law and accounting practices. Hours by client, leave, payroll, expense claims and your own accounts, from one record of each person and each client engagement.
Time
Set up each engagement as a project with the client's name, a billable flag and budget hours. Your people fill a weekly grid, and partners or managers approve it.

Eight views (client, project, person, department, task, week, detail, attendance), each downloadable to Excel, or all in one workbook.
Budget hours per engagement, allocations by percentage, and your own list of task types, such as drafting, site visit or review.
Not yet: Dexta does not turn approved hours into client invoices. You download billable hours by client to Excel and invoice from there, or from Dexta Books.
People and pay
Seventeen settings per leave type: monthly or yearly credit, comp-off, half days, the sandwich rule, probation limits and encashment, with a "what would this person get" preview.
Dexta Time →Appointment, confirmation, increment and relieving letters from your own templates, one at a time or in a batch. Probation end dates come with reminders.
Dexta HR →The 50% wage rule, PF at the ₹25,000 ceiling, professional tax and LWF rules for every state, Form 130 (was Form 16), and a leaver's final pay within two working days.
Dexta Pay →Letters that show pay are issued only by people allowed to see salaries. A switch decides whether finance sees each person's salary or only totals.
Dexta Pay →Claims and the books
If your firm is an LLP or a partnership: Books keeps your accounts, GST and TDS, and fills the Form 3CD tax audit. It does not yet work out ITR-5, or prepare accounts in the ICAI format for non-companies. Your CA works from Books' reports and the accountant's pack.
Keeping good people
Goals and reviews with evidence from real work, such as timesheets filed on time, and increments sent to Pay as a draft.
Thank a colleague against one of your firm's values. It shows on their profile and counts in their review.
Paste a brief and see who in the firm has the verified skills for it, and what each person is missing.
Your people refer someone they know. The candidate moves into your hiring pipeline, and the bonus is paid through payroll once the hire stays.
Questions for IT, HR or accounts raised as tickets, each with an SLA that counts only your working hours.
Client confidentiality
Dexta runs the same product on our cloud in India or on a server in your own office. Backups are encrypted, copied to an Indian region every six hours and kept 400 days. Grievances raised on the helpdesk are masked, so even system admins can't read them unless they work the HR desk.
Try Dexta
A 30-minute demo on a sample firm: a week of client hours approved, the payroll run, and the entries landing in the books.
