Applying for leave
Check your balance, apply for a day, half a day or longer, and withdraw a request.
Updated 15 October 2026
What you’ll do: ask for leave and see what you’ll have left.
Who can do this: every employee.
Steps
- In Dexta Time, open Leave. Your balance shows what’s left, used and pending for each leave type.
- Click Apply for leave.
- Pick the Leave type, then the From and To dates.
- For a single day, choose under Which part of the day: The whole day, First half (morning) or Second half (afternoon). For longer leave you can tick Start after lunch on or Come back after lunch on.
- Write a Reason. Add a Document if Dexta asks for one (some leave types need one beyond a number of days).
- Check the line that says what you’d have left, then click Send request. It goes to your manager.
Good to know
- Changed your mind? In Your requests, click Withdraw on a pending request, or Ask to cancel on an approved one (your approver decides).
- Company holidays and Who else is out are on the same page, so you can plan around them.
- For an optional holiday, pick the leave type for it and choose the day under Which optional holiday.
- Your company sets the rules (half days, the sandwich rule, notice, the most days at a time). If Dexta won’t take a request, it says which rule stopped it.
