Clocking in from the phone
Clock in and out from your phone, with your location checked and a photo if your company asks for one.
Updated 15 October 2026
What you’ll do: mark your attendance from your phone, and (for HR) decide how strict the check is.
Who can do this: every employee clocks in. HR sets the rules.
Steps
- In Dexta Time on your phone, open Attendance.
- Tap Clock in. Allow location access when your phone asks.
- If your company asks for a photo, you see Clock in with a photo: tap Take a photo (or Take it again), then Clock in.
- At the end of the day, tap Clock out.
For HR: setting the rules
- Open Clocking in from a phone under Administration.
- Under For the whole company, tick whether to record the location, and choose what happens to a clock-in outside the location’s circle: don’t check, refuse it, or allow it and flag it for the manager.
- Choose whether to take a photo at clock-in.
- Under By location, change any of these for one office. Each starts as As the company.
Good to know
- The circle around each office is set by an org admin in Dexta Hub, under Organisation and Locations.
- Managers and HR see flagged clock-ins under Phone clock-ins, with Only flagged and See photo.
- Add Dexta Time to your home screen from the Install Dexta Time on your phone banner for one-tap clock-in.
